CO2 Emissions
Its Climate-Biodiversity Action Plan follows five pathways: Measure, Decarbonize, Regenerate, Collaborate and Finance. G Adventures measures Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions and has committed to halving its carbon footprint by 2030 and reaching Net Zero before 2050. Through Trees for Days, it grows one tree for every day a customer travels, with a target of 12 million trees by 2030.
Waste Management
Through the Plastics Partnership Project, efforts are made to reduce unnecessary single-use plastics by promoting refillable bottles and collaborating with suppliers and partners. A partnership with Travel Without Plastic also supports the implementation of practical plastic-reduction measures across operations.
Citizen Science Programs
Environmental education is integrated into its expedition experiences, with certified Galápagos National Park naturalist guides providing information about local wildlife, ecosystems and responsible visitor behaviour. Galápagos itineraries can also include visits to the Charles Darwin Research Station, connecting travellers with local conservation efforts.
Local First Initiative / Communities
Community impact is a central part of the G for Good strategy. Through a long-term partnership with Planeterra, support is provided to community-owned tourism enterprises through training, infrastructure, funding, and access to travellers. The Ripple Score measures how much travellers’ spending stays within local communities. Collaboration with organizations such as ChildSafe Movement, World Animal Protection, the Jane Goodall Institute, and the World Cetacean Alliance also supports responsible tourism, child protection, and animal welfare.
