TECHNOLOGY & FUEL:
CO₂ Emissions
Fuel efficiency and reduced energy consumption are part of the vessel’s sustainability approach. The operation also focuses on improving energy efficiency and reducing emissions through responsible onboard practices.
Waste Management
Waste management is integrated into onboard operations, with a focus on reducing waste and eliminating single-use plastics across the fleet. Wastewater is purified onboard without chemicals before clean water is returned to the environment. A global partnership also supports the removal of plastic from rivers, oceans and coastlines.
Citizen Science Programs
The vessel supports scientific research and conservation in the Galápagos through its partnership with the Charles Darwin Foundation. Guests can visit the CDF Marine Research Center and learn about ongoing research on shark ecology, mangrove ecosystems and climate change. The partnership also supports scientific monitoring and conservation of Galápagos marine biodiversity.
Local First Initiative / Communities
The vessel prioritizes local sourcing, with ingredients selected to support Ecuadorian farmers, fishermen and local suppliers. The operation also works with conservation and community initiatives in the Galápagos. Through the partnership with the Charles Darwin Foundation, guests can contribute to local conservation projects, while the broader sustainability programme supports responsible practices and community engagement in the destinations visited.
