    Biography

Born and raised in San Martín de los Andes, Jenifer grew up with nature not as a destination, but as a way of life. Her father introduced her to camping, open-air living, and the quiet magic of wild places — and from there, her curiosity for the world grew into something she simply had to follow.

At 18, Jen left home with a backpack and an explorer’s spirit. Over the years, she made her way through 21 countries across 6 continents — hitchhiking long roads, volunteering on farms across La Puna and the Caribbean, and finding her way into local homes from Patagonia to Mexico. Her routes were always shaped more by curiosity than by maps.

After years on the road, she returned to her hometown and became a certified Spanish and English as a Foreign Language teacher. But the pull of the world never faded. In 2023, she hitchhiked across Morocco from north to south, eventually reaching Merzouga — the golden gateway to the Sahara — where she lived with a nomadic Berber family, sharing their daily life, stories, and traditions.

In 2025, she spent over a year in Japan: hitchhiking across the country, climbing mountain peaks, and connecting islands by bike before settling in Tokyo as an English teacher for children. Through it all, Jen discovered that language is rarely a barrier when there is genuine openness and a willingness to connect. That belief now shapes everything she does — helping travellers design experiences that feel true to who they are. Antarctica Travels couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to the team.
